British Actor Joins The Nights Watch For Game Of Thrones Season 2

By Jolie LashLOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin has confirmed some new casting news for the second season of the hit, Emmy-nominated HBO show. British actor Ben Crompton will play Dolorous Edd, a member of the Nights Watch, who works for the Old Bear, Lord Commander Jeor Mormontt (James Cosmo), Martin confirmed on his Not A Blog on Tuesday. Cromptons character will join Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and the men of the Nights Watch as they journey beyond the Wall, in search of Snows uncle, the long-missing Benjen Stark (Joseph Mawle). Crompton, from Manchester, England, appeared in the UK television show Man Stroke Woman. Click HERE to see a photo of Crompton. He was also in PBS movie The Mayor of Casterbridge, which starred former Rome actors James Purefoy (Marc Anthony) and Polly Walker (Atia). He also played Inspector Mason in North & South, the British miniseries based on the 1855 novel by Elizabeth Gaskell, which starred upcoming The Hobbit actor, Richard Armitage. Crompton joins the just confirmed Hannah Murray as Gilly, Karl Davies as Alton Lannister as well as Roy Dotrice as Hallyne, the pyromancer, German actor Tom Wlaschiha as Jaqen Hghar, Gemma Whelan as Yara Greyjoy (in the books as Asha), Nonso Anozie as Xaro Xhoan Daxos, Liam Cunningham as Davos, Stephen Dillane as Robert Baratheons heir and brother Stannis, Dutch actress Carice van Houten as the red priestess Melisandre, Gwendoline Christie as Brienne, knight to Renly Baratheon, and Tudors actress Natalie Dormer as Margaery Tyrell, Renlys wife.
